Statement of Aims
- The ministry of the Word of God.
- The fellowship of prayer.
- The pursuit of Holiness.
- The presentation of the missionary challenge.
Doctrinal Position
The Convention upholds the fundamental truths of evangelical Christianity including:
- The divine inspiration and supreme authority of Holy Scripture as the written word of God;
- The Trinity of Persons in the Godhead, Father, Son and Holy Spirit;
- The universal sinfulness and guilt of mankind since the fall, and the consequent need of salvation;
- The essential and eternal deity and the real and sinless humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ;
- The salvation of sinners by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, incarnate, crucified and risen, the only Mediator between God and man and our representative and substitute;
- The sanctification of the believers through the indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit; and,
- The certainty of the second coming of Christ as judge, the resurrection of the dead, the eternal reward of the righteous and the endless ruin of the unrighteous.
It is agreed that matters on which evangelical Christians are not unanimous – including the mode and subject of baptism, forms of church government, the details of unfulfilled prophecy and the ‘special gifts’ of the Spirit shall have no place in the life or ministry of the Convention.
Control
The convention shall be controlled by a committee comprising a chairperson, deputy chairperson, secretaries, treasurer and such other members as shall be added from time to time.
The committee shall be self perpetuating but shall hold its annual meeting during convention and shall report to convention.
All members of committee shall subscribe to the doctrinal position.
